about
After falling in love with Roy Clark's 1963 record 'The Lightning Fingers of Roy Clark,' we decided to try our hand at playing one of our favorites from the album - Texas Twist (the first single he released on Capitol records in Dec. 1961). Adding our own "twist" on it of course, this was one of the first tunes that started the 'Telecaster section' of our live shows. We recorded some of these tele tracks ourselves in February of 2020 but did not do anything with them. When putting together the Greasiest Hits CD, we decided to mix and master Texas Twist from that recording session as a little something extra for CD buyers. But we figured why not release it digitally as well? Enjoy our version of Roy Clark's Texas Twist. P.S. No Jazzmasters were used in the making of this song.
The debut LP from Kioea is dreamy psychedelic surf music that calls back to the '60s while feeling remarkably contemporary. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 22, 2023
